An applicant has to apply for either petty patent or patent in the same invention.An applicant shall submit all required document with application fee.
1. Thai patent application form: Sor-Por/Sor-Por/001-Kor form
2. A description of invention
In the description of the invention, the following topics have to be included;
 Title of the invention
Nature and purpose of the invention
Field of the invention
Background of the invention
Disclosure of the invention
Brief description of drawings(if any drawing)
The best method of the invention
Industrial, handicraft or commercial applicability
3. Claim(s)
4. Drawing (if any)
5. An abstract
6. Assignment form
In the case that the applicant is not the inventor, the application priority right for a patent may be assigned or inherited. The assignment of the right to apply for a patent must be in writing and shall require the signatures of the assignor and assignee.
7. Power of attorney
In the case that the foreign applicant appoints an agent in Thailand, a copy of the letter of power of attorney with the letter of authorization of the applicant, the signatures in which shall be notarized by notary public. In addition, any power of attorney or certification in a foreign language shall be accompanied by a Thai translation certified by the translator and agent to be true
In the case that the Thai applicant appoints an agent in Thailand, he may appoint only an agent registered with the Director-General.
In case of filing the first corresponding application outside the kingdom , the patent application of the invention in Thailand shall be filed within one year since the date of filing the said patent application overseas for the first time, in case of members of WTO. In addition, the priority certificate documents for the patent application of invention shall be submitted within 16 months from the date of filing the said patent application overseas for the first time.
All documents in foreign language must be translated in Thai language.
